Unremarkable

Flossing

Brushing teeth is not so bad. It's the flossing that's annoying me. And yet, without flossing, where would I be today?

I made flossing a habit when my dentist recommended it. Before I was a flosser, I had teeth trouble all the time. Cavities, bleeding gums, tartar, the works.

I tried all kinds of things for better dental hygiene. I tried these small toothbrushes. My dentist was convinced the smaller the better, in order to reach the most remote areas of the oral cavity. I tried a special mouth rinse. My dentist wrote a prescription. Only one pharmcy in town had it. Every single time, I had to go there to pick it up. I tried to improve my toothbrushing technique. Red-white-red seemed to be the secret. Gum-teeth-gum. And a circling motion.

Nothing seemed to help. You know what did help in the end? Flossing.

This year marks one decade of flossing. Come to think of it, flossing's not so bad after all.
